The Story of Renegade

I want to dedicate this company to my wife, Angie. I'm a former Marine Corps infantryman who served eight years (2006-2014), including two combat deployments to Afghanistan.  Like many veterans, the transition after service wasn't easy for me. Through it all, Angie carried more weight than most people will ever see. Military spouses don't get enough credit; they often fight harder than we do. In a very real sense, I might not have made it this far without her.

Renegade Fence exists to support Angie and our six children. I seek to build a future that honors the sacrifices our family has made during and after my time in uniform. My goal is simple: to build a business strong enough to support my family the way she has so valiantly supported me through it all.

Why Fences? Why now? 

Fencing wasn’t something I planned on. It's a long story, one I may share more fully on our blog. However, in a nutshell, fencing has been this weird niche profession that has sort of kept showing up in my life when I needed it most. After leaving the Marine Corps, I found myself with a very specific skill set and not many civilian career paths that truly fit. I was a professional gunslinger; Law enforcement and private security were options. Nope and nope! I had a family now, and I was done living by the gun.

Come to find out, my skills as an infantryman translate very well to this trade. Fencing is honest and often humbling work. It's physically demanding, detail-oriented, and requires discipline, precision, and follow-through. It's also just plain fun to blast away on saws and nail guns all day! Perfect work for a grunt!
