On the Fence

This blog shares real-world stories, lessons learned, and practical insights from the jobsites of Renegade Fence installers. There’s a surprising amount that goes into what might seem to some like “just a simple fence.” From wood fence and gate installations to the realities of running a small trade business, I'm documenting the wins, the challenges, and everything in between.

No mission too small!

I've been hearing from quite a few folks around Boise lately that they’ve had trouble getting calls back for fence repairs and smaller installs.

I think part of that is because many fence crews start getting especially busy this time of year chasing larger projects.

While I definitely enjoy building a big 100–200+ foot long fence, I also genuinely like fitting in smaller installs, repairs, and gate work throughout the week. Renegade Fence is a smaller operation, which means those jobs are absolutely worth my time.

For example, last week, I drove almost an hour to Middleton to replace a 5-foot section of wood privacy fence that a dog had torn up. It was a Friday, I wrapped it up by noon, and it was a great way to finish out the week.

Whether it’s a full fence, a short section, or fixing one annoying problem that’s been bothering you for months, don’t hesitate to reach out.
